Travel to St Anton – latest Covid rules

We’re kicking off the winter season on Monday the 13. December 2021 – so a few days later than expected, but hey, just in time for some Christmas pow ? ? Have you seen the snow depth?

Good news – the temporary lockdown officially ended on Sunday December 12th – with shops, bars and hotels re-opening here in St Anton and Zürs-Lech. Lifts open tomorrow and we are all set here in St. Anton and ready to guide you to the best snow in the area – read more about safety measures in the area here!

We’ve collected a quick summary of all you need to know when you come here:

Can I travel to Austria at the moment?

There are no travel restrictions in place, hotels re-opened on the 12.12.21 for our regular guests.  Flights are currently operating normally to Innsbruck and Zürich.

Do I need to take a test to travel to Austria?

  • YES, it is “2G PLUS” at the moment, meaning that you have to be double jabbed (less than 270 days ago) or recovered AND have a negative PCR-Test to be able to travel to Austria (updated on 23.12.21)
  • Under 12 can travel unvaccinated if accompanied by vaccinated adult

Do I need to wear a Mask?

Yes you do! FFP2 Masks are required for all ski lifts, public transport and in any public indoor spaces such as shops, pharmacies and medical centres. You don’t need to wear mask when skiing however it will protect you on the cold days ?  You can comfortably wear your mask under a Piste to Powder buff ? You can buy the FFP2s in the pharmacies and supermarkets here or at all travel places such as airports and Piste To Powder buffs you can get from us.

When do the lifts Open?

In St. Anton and the whole Arlberg lifts opened on Monday 13th December. You will need to show proof of 2G (double Vaccination or recent recovery) to purchase your lift ticket – so please allow a little extra time for this.  Unvaccinated 12-15 years olds will need PCR/Antigen tests which are available for free in resort.  The most up to date info can be found here.

Can I visit bars and Restaurants?

Yes you can – starting December 12th, bars, shops and resturants re-opened here.  You will be able to visit all bars and restaurants with proof of 2G (vaccination or recent recovery). Keep this handy on your phone or a laminated card. Two dose vaccinations will only be considered valid for 9 months (270 days) after the second dose. Book a booster if your second vaccine does not meet this . You will also need to scan yourself in when you have taken your seat or at the entrance to the bar.

Can I book my Piste to Powder guiding now?

Yes of course, we are happy to take your booking now however no deposit will be required. Please pay in full cash – or card on the first day of guiding.
